What you need

Any authenticator app on your phone, such as the one built into your password manager.

Turn it on

  1. Open your account settings and choose Two-step sign-in.
  2. Scan the code with your authenticator app.
  3. Enter the six-digit code the app shows to finish.
  4. Save your backup codes somewhere safe, away from your phone.

If you lose your phone

Sign in with one of your backup codes, then set up two-step sign-in again on your new phone.
